From weak-scale observables to leptogenesis

چکیده

Thermal leptogenesis is an attractive mechanism for generating the baryon asymmetry of the Universe. However, in supersymmetric models, the parameter space is severely restricted by the gravitino bound on the reheat temperature TRH . For hierarchical light neutrino masses, it is shown that thermal leptogenesis can work when TRH ∼ 10 GeV. The lowenergy observable consequences of this scenario are BR(τ → lγ) ∼ 10 − 10. For higher TRH , thermal leptogenesis works in a larger area of parameter space, whose observable consequences are more ambiguous. A parametrisation of the seesaw in terms of weak-scale inputs is used, so the results are independent of the texture chosen for the GUT-scale Yukawa matrices.

Weak-scale Implications of Thermal Leptogenesis in Susy

Thermal leptogenesis is an attractive mechanism for generating the baryon asymmetry of the Universe. However, in supersymmetric models, the parameter space is severely restricted by the gravitino bound on the reheat temperature TRH . Using a parametrisation of the seesaw in terms of left-handed inputs, which are related to weak-scale observables in mSUGRA, the low-energy footprints of thermal l...

Tests of Leptogenesis at Low Energy

The problem of testing leptogenesis from low energy experiments is discussed following three different perspectives. Firstly, we review the prospects that from low energy experiments we could reconstruct the neutrino Yukawa coupling matrix and hence constrain the leptogenesis mechanism. We emphasize the fact that the experimental determination of the phases and mixings in the light neutrino mas...

Leptogenesis with Single Right-Handed Neutrino Dominance

We make an analytic and numerical study of leptogenesis in the framework of the (Supersymmetric) Standard Model plus the see-saw mechanism with a U(1) family symmetry and single right-handed neutrino dominance. We show that that there is a decoupling between the low energy neutrino observables and the leptogenesis predictions, but that nevertheless leptogenesis is capable of resolving ambiguiti...

Leptogenesis and low-energy phases

In supersymmetric models, the CP asymmetry produced in the decay of the lightest right-handed neutrino, ≡ ǫ, can be written as a function of weak scale parameters. We introduce a way of separating ǫ into contributions from the various weak-scale phases, and study the contribution of potentially measurable neutrino phases to leptogenesis. We find that the Majorana phase φ′, which could have obse...

Leptogenesis and Low-energy Observables

We relate leptogenesis in a class of theories to low-energy experimental observables: quark and lepton masses and mixings. With reasonable assumptions motivated by grand unification, one can show that the CP-asymmetry parameter takes a universal form. Furthermore the dilution mass is related to the light neutrino masses. Overall, these models offer a natural explanation for a lepton asymmetry i...
